I wanted to highlight the ability to transmit your heart rate from a smartwatch to other devices.
As this becomes a more popular feature you can see from the picture above that :
- smart helmets could use it to tell you that your heart rate is too high
- your car could calm you down.
- your computer could ask you to take a break.
This all goes towards “mindfulness” coming into wearables and into our everyday life. For more on mindfulness read Eckhart Tolle’s “the power of now book”.
Imagine a connected network of devices using heart rate.
Imagine wearables calming you down everyday, why not, who else if going to do it?
The device featured in the picture is the Garmin vivomove HR watch (Currently under test) You can go into the watch and set the heart rate to transmit. The heart rate can be picked up by other ANT compatible sensors.
In the user cases highlighted we have moved from the gym to out and about enjoying everyday life.
This could create useful and usable wearables.
