The Lumos Smart helmet is now safer with gesture control on Apple watch and MIPS technology

Lumos the  great smart helmet I reviewed here has just become safer with the introduction of the MIPS ( Multi-directional Impact Protection System). MIPS allows the skull to move independent of the helmet on impact to provide a little bit of “give” to the skull. You can read their press release here.

They also have a really cool new beta feature where when you put your arm out to turn (As you do naturally) with the Apple watch, it switches on the left or right turning lights on the helmet. There is a video here (See 1 min 20 seconds in).
