Jabra have launched an updated version of their previously launched Sport Pulse headphones complete with the Sports Life App for iOS and Android. The “Special Edition” headphones feature the latest hardware and fittings and the Sports Life App has the latest build of software.
I thought that I was going to be reviewing “a device” but having used them over the last month I have found that that this is a “fitness service which comes with a set of great fitting headphones” . So if you want to improve your fitness on top of getting a good set of headphones then this product should be on your radar.
I spoke to Jabra and they have stated that the product is “About getting the best of your workout”. They work with a partner to ensure that the Algorithm they use can calculate your fitness including the VO2 max figure accurately.
The headphones have a built in heart rate monitor which reports heart rate on the mobile App. The Sports Life App is the Audio coach and the audio coach is the USP of this product in my opinion. The coach takes all of the inputs available to you and asks you to “Speed up” or “Slow down” depending on the target you set on the App.
I have tested the device outside running, in the gym and at the office over four weeks. The following posts from Part 2 to 5 cover these tests that I have taken. Part 6 gives a verdict on the product.
